tweet, tweet

After reading our assigned twitter article, I was slightly confused. At some points the author was dissing Twitter and only mentioning their diminishing amount of users yet after speaking to the CEO of Twitter the author says that numbers are at some of the highest they have ever been. Speaking as a fan of Twitter, I have recently been tweeting more often then in the past. I think my more recent interest in Twitter lies within the fact that I think Facebook has been totally exploited in recent months. I'm sick of freshmen from my old high school friend requesting me, seeing the same status updates everyday and my parents trying to snoop through all my pictures. Twitter is a more private way to express what you are doing daily and what your current interests are without all the picture tags, bumper stickers, and Farmville gifts. The idea behind Twitter is significant in these days because people don't have much time to read long drawn out news articles so when you can only post your thoughts in 140 characters it makes staying up to date with current news a lot easier and quicker. I hope Twitter is here to stay but doesn't grow as dramatically or evolve as crazily as Facebook did.

an introduction

Welcome to my Blog!  I know it doesn't seem like much right now but I intend to embellish and get more creative as soon as possible.  My purpose for creating this blog is obviously to fulfill my blog requirement for class but also because I think it’s a great creative outlet.  Having a Blog allows me to voice my rants and raves as well as learn how to better navigate websites and correctly communicate my thoughts to a wider audience.

In this blog, you can expect me to discuss the assignments given out in class and basically some of my everyday encounters.  Daily I have to take the shuttle, sit through lectures, go to the gym, hang out with friends, work, and enjoy some me time so there are plenty of opportunities for stories along the way.

I registered for the Public Relations Writing course firstly because I had to in order to keep up with the credits required by my major to graduate but also because I think the course will supply me with knowledge I will most definitely need to succeed in the Public Relations work force.  Most of what Publicists do revolves around their writing so from this course I expect to learn how to properly express my ideas onto paper.
